Minutes of the Swanville City Council meeting was held in the Swanville Center on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. The meeting called to order 7:00 p.m. with the following members present: Sandy Lange, Jay Bartkowicz, Jim Molitor, Norm Carlson, and Tony Maciej. Also present: Lonny Hutchins and reporter Sheila McCoy.
Minutes of the Swanville City Council meeting held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 were reviewed. A motion was made by Jay Bartkowicz to approve the minutes as printed. Norm Carlson seconded the motion. All members voted in favor, motion carried.
The treasures report was given. A motion was made by Jim Molitor and seconded by Jay Bartkowicz to approve the treasurer’s report. All members voted in favor, motion carried.
The city clerk reported to the council that Pat Zeis and Jenna Carlson are not interested at this time to purchase lots 28, 29 and 30 on Forest Hill Lane for $15,000.00.
City maintenance man Lonny, reported to the council that everything is running good at the water and sewer plant at this time. The ice skating rink is being used and a small warming house would be nice to have by the rink. This could be a possibility for next year. The Mayor reported to the council that there have been two meetings with the MN Department of Health about the wellhead protection plan. The completion of the plan should take about two years.
Red’s Irish Pub liquor licenses will be expiring in the middle of April, 2016. Jay Bartkowicz made a motion to renew the liquor licenses for Red’s Irish Pub for one year with the same fees as last year: Off Sale $100.00, On Sale $1750.00, and Sunday License $150.00, for a total of $2000.00. Tony Maciej seconded the motion. All members voted in favor, motion carried. The clerk will send out the necessary paper work with invoice to Red’s Irish Pub.
Mayor Lange has received notice from the Great River Library that there was an insurance survey conducted at the library. There are a couple of items which need to be changed. The Mayor will be working with the Swanville Librarian to get the items fixed.
The Local Board of Appeal & Equalization meeting will take place on Monday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Swanville Center. Mayor Peterson, Jim Molitor and Norm Carlson are planning on being present.
The following claims were presented for payment. Members of the council were furnished with a listing. Jim Molitor made a motion to approve the claims. Jay Bartkowicz seconded the motion. All members voted in favor, motion carried.
The next monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
There being no further business, a motion was made by Mayor Lange and seconded by Jay Bartkowicz to adjourn. All members voted in favor, motion carried. Meeting adjourned 7:30 p.m.
