Minutes of the Swanville City Council meeting held in the Swanville Center on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. The meeting called to order 7:00 p.m. with the following members present: Sandy Lange, John Dragseth, and Norm Carlson. Absent: Jim Molitor and Tony Maciej. Also present: reporter Terry Lehrke.
Minutes of the Swanville City Council meeting Tuesday, April 5, 2022 were reviewed. A motion was made by John Dragseth to approve the minutes. Norm Carlson seconded the motion. All members voted in favor, motion carried.
The treasures report was given. A motion was made by Norm Carlson and seconded by John Dragseth to approve the treasurer’s report. All members voted in favor, motion carried.
Mayor Lange reported Moore Engineering was present in the morning to finish some preliminary water storage tank and new water line plans. A generator will be on location for the tank. Another lift station for residents to have access for the Forest Hill Lane property area was discussed.
Water pressure was an issue one night in the City. The problem was turkey growers needed a large amount of water on their farms. The city clerk will charge the different farms accordingly for the water which was taken.
A reminder of the City Clean-up Day, Saturday, May 7 from 9-11 a.m. at the City Park.
It was reported to the council that dogs are running free within the city limits. The mayor will put an ad in reminding residents dogs must be on a lease and to have consideration for your neighbors.
John Hoogenhaus is asking for a land use permit to install a 60’x35 concrete driveway and a 12’x25’ concrete slab. All set backs have been made. John Dragseth made a motion give Hoogenhaus the land use permit. Norm Carlson seconded the motion. All members voted in favor, motion carried.
Delinquent water bills were looked at and discussed. Letters will be sent out and water will be turned off on delinquent residents.
The Energy and Environment grant amounting to $20,000.00 will be used for led bulbs in the ornamental main street lights and tree planting on Springbrook Drive.
The following claims were presented for payment. Members of the council were furnished with a listing. Norm Carlson made a motion to approve the claims. John Dragseth seconded the motion. All members voted in favor, motion carried.
The next regular monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Swanville Center.
There being no further business, a motion was made by John Dragseth and seconded by Norm Carlson to adjourn. All members voted in favor, motion carried. Meeting adjourned 7:30 p.m.
