Swanville City Special Meeting August 30, 2016

A special meeting was called to order on August 30, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in the Swanville Center. Members present: Mayor Lange, Jay Bartkowicz, Jim Molitor, and Norm Carlson. Members absent: Tony Maciej. Also present Jason Murray.
Mayor Lange opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. and introduced Jason Murray a representative from David Drown & Associates. Jason stated he would be working with the City should the City decides to go forward and have a Tax Increment Financing District with Rotomolding of Swanville. Rotomolding would like to add onto their existing building and a shop/repair facility on their property. After discussion and questions were answered Mayor Lange introduced Resolution # 160830, stating there will be a Public Hearing on October 4 at 6:30pm in the Swanville Center to establish a TIF District. Jim Molitor seconded the motion. All present voted in favor, motion carried.
Mayor Lange presented to council a request project application service with Widseth, Smith & Nolting. This would allow WSN preparation of a grant application to the Workforce Housing Development Program for the apartment four plex. After discussion, Jim Molitor mad a motion to have WSN prepare the grant application. Norm Carlson seconded the motion. All members voted in favor, Motion carried.
Mayor Lange stated at the Fire Association meeting a $2000.00 raise in the assessment will be asked to help defray the cost of a new pumper truck.
The special meeting was then closed to move to the Swanville Fire Hall for the 8:00 p.m. meeting.
