Two-Vehicle Crash with Injuries Near Freeport

May 13, 2021 by Hometown News

On May 12, 2021 at 12:00 PM, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center was notified of a two-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of County Road 11 and County Road 30 in Oak Township. This location is south of the city of Freeport.

Deputies arrived on scene and learned a 1999 Ford F-250 truck driven by Dale Winter, 56, of Melrose, was driving northbound on County Road 11 approaching the intersection with County Road 30 when a 2015 Volvo Semi pulling a trailer pulled out in front of him. The semi, driven by Randy Walls, 65, Minnetrista, was traveling eastbound on County Road 30. Walls stopped for the stop sign at County Road 11 and proceeded into the intersection without seeing the truck causing the collision. Winter sustained injuries in the crash.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded and was assisted by Melrose Ambulance and Freeport Rescue at the scene.
