ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists on eastbound Interstate 94 between St. Michael and Monticello will encounter work crews and possible slow or stopped traffic as the road is reduced to a single lane overnight. The closures began Monday, April 27 and will be complete by May 29.
Lane closures on eastbound I-94 between Highway 241 and County Road 18 will occur nightly from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. while crews resurface nine miles of the roadway.
While most of the lane closures will occur on eastbound I-94, occasional lane closures will also occur on westbound I-94 between Highway 241 and County Road 18 while crews repair pipes.
The project will result in a smoother ride and help ensure MnDOT’s transportation system continues to serve the state for many years.
MnDOT is also undertaking an I-94 improvement project in Rogers and St. Michael this summer. More information on that project is available atwww.mndot.gov/d3/i94/index.html.
Motorists should slow down when approaching the work zones, plan additional time for travel and be aware of changing road configurations until both projects are complete. For real time travel information anywhere in Minnesota, visit www.511mn.org.
