Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre and Upsala Community Education presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Walk-in registration will be held on August 13, 1-2:00 pm in the Upsala Area School Commons. Auditions start promptly 2:00 p.m. following registration.
Up to 70 local young people are needed to play the roles of Buck, Luck, Yuck-Yuck, and the rest of the Groundlings; Titania, Oberon, Pease Blossom, Cobweb,Moth, Mustardseed, and the rest of the Sprites; Quince, Flute, Starveling, Snout,Snug, and the Understudies of the acting troupe, The Duke, Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius, Helena, and the rest of the Noblemen and Noblewomen.
Two professional actors/directors from Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s staff will direct the production and play the roles of the mischievous sprite, Puck and the colorful Nick Bottom.
The week long program is open to anyone age 7 – 12th grade. Auditions may last up to two hours and students are required to be in attendance the entire time. No preparation is necessary to audition. The cast will be announced by the directors at the end of the audition. The cast will be required to stay following auditions for a short rehearsal.
There is a fee. Donations to help cover the costs are appreciated.
