Upsala Drama Club to present Fawlty Towers

November 7, 2014 by Hometown News

This year for their fall play the Upsala Drama Club will be presenting three episodes of the British sitcom “Fawlty Towers.” The show originally aired in the 1970s and is centered around Basil Fawlty who is the owner of a small hotel in the English Riviera – and is extremely rude to almost everyone he comes in contact with.
Basil Fawlty will be played by Aaron Peterson. The other main characters include his wife Sybil (Audrey Schleper), their Spanish waiter Manuel (Sam Payne), and the maid Polly (Marie Blonigen). Aidan Guthrie, Lacey Brezinka and Jessie Evoniuk play regular guests at the hotel.
Filling out the cast are Danica Cheney, Margaux Douvier, Paul Ripplinger, McKenzie Barth, Ben Blonigen, Rachel Prom, Samantha Blonigen, Andrew Prokott, Stefani Pohlmann, Brandon Young, Isaac Guthrie, Alexis Krebs and Annika Gunderson.
Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 14 & 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Upsala Auditorium. If the Patriots football team ends up playing on the 15th, that performance will move to Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
