Werner J. “Vern” Eibensteiner

Werner J. “Vern” Eibensteiner, age 88 of Albany, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Julius Beckermann, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Seven Dolors Gathering Area in Albany. Parish prayers will be held at 4 p.m. followed by St. Joseph’s Men’s Society at 6 p.m. Friday evening at the Seven Dolors Gathering Area.
Werner Joseph Eibensteiner was born January 8, 1930 in Getty Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Joseph and Anna (Kampsen) Eibensteiner. Vern married Lucille Van Heel on August 27, 1951 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony and raised their nine children on the family farm. In 1985, he started his career in over-the-road trucking; this brought him great joy. In his younger years, Vern enjoyed bowling with his wife. He also enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and in his later years, getting pontoon rides from Mother of Mercy.
Vern was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s Men’s Society.
Survivors include his children, Werner (Marilyn) Eibensteiner Jr. of Maple Grove, Gordon (Janice) Eibensteiner of Slayton, Jeanne (Allen) Stangler of Albany, Lonny “Butch” (Audrey) Eibensteiner of Lino Lakes, Dale (Brenda) Eibensteiner of St. Joseph, Jim (Marla) Eibensteiner of Elk River, Lu (Joe) Rademacher of New Munich, Shelly (Russ) Rooney of Belgrade, and Susan (Whit) Bagley of Bryant, Arkansas; 29 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and sister-in-law, Delores Tamm of Albany.
Vern was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Eibensteiner; parents; brothers, Hugo (Marcella) and Brother Gregory; sisters, Selma (Edward) Stalboerger, Mildred (Tony) Welle, Rita (Quirin) Stalboerger, Florentine (Sylvester) Walz, Elsie (Cyril) Felling, Sister Lavonne Eibensteiner, Hilda (John) Petermeier, and Frieda (Art) Winter; grandsons, Chris and Scott Eibensteiner; and infant grandson, Russell Eibensteiner.
Serving as casket bearers will be Al Stangler, Russ Rooney, Gordy Eibensteiner, Lonny Eibensteiner, Dale Eibensteiner, and Jim Eibensteiner. Cross bearer will be Nathan Rademacher and scripture bearer will be Cody Rademacher. Reader will be Brooke Eibensteiner. Honorary bearers will be St. Joseph’s Men’s Society.
Memorials are preferred.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.
