DNR temporarily closes La Salle Lake State Recreation Area; discourages visits to Itasca State Park due to severe storm damage

La Salle Lake State Recreation Area is being evacuated and closed, and people are asked to postpone day visits to Itasca State Park while crews work to clean up downed trees from last night's severe storms in northwestern Minnesota, according to the Department of Natural Resources.
