This past year the pandemic affected our communities, state and world in ways unimaginable, and there still is some uncertainty about what lies ahead. On December 31, 2020 at approximately 4:37 p.m. the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an ATV that had broken through thin ice on Pearl Lake in Maine Prairie Township. On December 27th, 2020 at approximately 2:00 p.m., Michael Tiemann, 61, of Grey Eagle was riding his 2000 Artic Cat 600 snowmobile, south, along the east side of Little Birch Lake in Melrose Township. On December 25, 2020 at 9:39 p.m., Stearns County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 24634 County Road 17 in Krain Township for a building fire. A shed on the south side of the property was on fire.
